FreightHUD ("we", "our", or "the extension") is built and supported by Tendercraft (https://tendercrafthq.com). It helps you review freight rates and available broker evidence on supported load boards. This policy describes the data the extension reads, stores, and sends.
On supported load boards, FreightHUD reads visible load details, including lanes, rates, mileage, equipment, and broker identifiers, to calculate estimates and build optional email drafts in your browser. We do not send load details, rates, or email drafts to our broker-lookup service.
FreightHUD stores the city and state you enter, the time you last changed or explicitly confirmed that location, carrier and contact details, RPM thresholds, and email templates using chrome.storage.sync when available, with chrome.storage.local as a fallback and local mirror. Chrome may synchronize those settings through your signed-in account. FreightHUD does not read truck GPS or ELD location. Trial dates and license information, including a license key and email returned by the licensing service, use Chrome sync with browser local storage as a fallback. A license instance identifier is stored locally. You can remove extension data through Chrome's extension controls.
Calculation history is enabled by default and stored only in chrome.storage.local, not Chrome sync. Each record includes the load board and load ID or fingerprint, lanes, rate and counter-offer inputs, loaded and deadhead miles, truck start city/state and confirmation time, calculation time, RPM thresholds, and extension version. Manual corrections also record old/new miles, source, time, and an optional reason you enter. Up to 200 calculations and 200 changes are retained for 7 days. You can disable new history, delete individual calculations, or clear saved history in the History tab. These records are not sent to Tendercraft or the lookup service.
Active manual deadhead corrections are stored separately on the device (up to 200, for 7 days), even when calculation history is disabled. They are restored only for a matching stable load ID, lane, mileage, and truck start. Clearing calculation history does not remove active corrections; choose Use estimate on the load to clear a correction. Local development demos use browser local storage instead of extension storage.
When the lookup service is configured, the extension sends a broker's public MC or DOT number to our service, which requests FMCSA data. The service may cache the public lookup result for up to 24 hours. The extension's in-memory cache holds up to 500 results for 15 minutes; unavailable results retry after 30 seconds and not-found results after 60 seconds. Missing or unavailable fields are shown as unverified; bond status is not inferred from authority status. The HUD shows the original evidence retrieval time, not a new time for a cache hit.
If you enter a license key, FreightHUD sends that key and an instance identifier to our licensing service for validation. That service communicates with Lemon Squeezy and may return your account email and license expiry. The extension does not enter payment details; any purchase is handled on Lemon Squeezy's site under its own policies.
The FreightHUD website can use Google Analytics 4 only when a measurement ID is configured and you choose Allow analytics. The site sends page paths and named actions such as Chrome Web Store button clicks. Those named events do not include clicked URLs, extension load-board details, license keys, or email contents. Google Analytics may also collect standard browser, device, usage, approximate location, and cookie-based measurement data; automatic event collection depends on the Analytics property settings. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. Use Privacy settings on the site to change it. See Google Analytics data collection details.
